Walking downtown and stopped by for a bite. Waited 20 minutes easily before they took a drink order.. it was not very busy. We ordered two med. rare burgers. This took over an hour to get to us and then both were well done and bland didn't send it back because I didn't want to wait another hour. The bartender was the only redeeming factor. She was around much more than our waiter. In my eyes I spent 45$ on three beers...everything else was awful. I hope Helena has better places to offer...
Food was great (wings were SPICY!), staff is really friendly too. We've enjoyed great service downstairs and had fun upstairs too.
Excellent food, service & atmosphere.
We showed up here at 7:30 on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. Atmosphere was good, clean. I ordered a stuffed burger...it was SUPPOSED to be stuffed with blue cheese, bacon, onions and gouda. Sounds great right?? Well, when it came out the first thing I noticed was my bun was saturated in red meat juice. I assumed that perhaps my burger was cooked medium or medium rare. I took a bite of the burger and it was well done. No juice inside, so I started to wonder where all this red meat juice came from. When I showed the waitress, she went back to the kitchen and brought the chef with her so that I could interrogate him about the red bun (awkward). The kid said, "It looks like tomato juice." I showed him that the tomatoes hadn't even touched my bun yet and that the juice was blood red, definitely not "tomato juice". The solution was to bring me out a new bun...even though this mysterious meat juice had touched my burger and plate. Fine, I'll eat it I thought. I certainly didn't want to wait for a new one because it had taken quite some time to get our meal. As I continued eating my burger, I realized that it was quite dull and plain. Bite after bite, I found NO STUFFED ANYTHING! Finally, my last two bites I found 1 bacon bit and a bit of oozey blue cheese, which was delightful, but that's all I found stuffed in my burger. The burger was $15. I then was charged $.50 for lettuce and tomato which apparently just doesn't come with a burger nowadays. I thought that MAYBE they would give us a small discount for the mysterious meat juice, but no such luck. I wanted to like Bert and Ernies but for me, it was overpriced for a mysterious meal that ended up grossing me out pretty bad. Oh, our waitress was really nice so I gave this two stars instead of one :) Just wanted to add that.
Roasted Brussels sprout salad was extraordinary -- roasted sprouts, pearl onions, grape tomatoes and creamy goat cheese on a bed of warmed cabbage and arugula. Excellent flavors and huge portion. Dining outdoors on a dog-friendly patio was a plus.
